I'm using Rhino 3D and this isn't always a problem but at least once or twice I week I bump into it. All of my polylines are closed in my Rhino file but are exploded/unconnected when I load them into VCarve. I have to manually rejoin the lines within VCarve, one at a time until I have a solid cut line. It's a mild frustration.
Has anyone else encountered this?
I've been using Rhino for 13 years, I don't particularly want switch software. I thought maybe it was a problem with tolerances but my Absolute Tolerance in Rhino is .001.

Try convert to curve before export/import.

I use Rhino as well and experience the same thing. Sometimes everything imports ok; sometimes it does not. I've not taken the time to ferret out the root cause.

Right, well at least it's not just me. Next time I'll keep track of what I'm doing before the incident, this last time my pieces were working just fine before I exploded them to tweak a couple lines and rejoined them.

Hi Guys,
I use Rhino 4 and find that the export settings are vital to good performance with V-carve.
When I export as a dxf for basic 2D cutting I use the following settings

hope this helps

Thanks, I'll give that a try.
