I'm having a problem with a file from 3D model club and I'm not getting much help from them
I can download the zipped file OK but I can't unzip it.
Has anyone had similar problem If so what do I do
I have windows7 and use google chrome

are you sure it is a zip file? It could possibly be a RAR file which is a compression type file.
In that case go to download.com and get a pgm called winrar or there may be other programs that will open several different types of compression files.

How did you try to unzip it? I use WinZip, however Windows 7 can extract most zip files, but not all.
One of the most common problems extracting a zip file is a corrupt download. I'd try downloading again, to see if that works.

Download 7zip. It will open almost any kind of compressed file. Free without nags, spam, advertisements or other annoyances.
I use it regularly.
One other hint, open the file as binary in TextEdit (another great utility to download). Look at the first several bytes in the file, usually that is a "magic number" that documents the structure of the file. Once you have that info, you can just look up what program to use to open it.
For instance.. did you know that vectric crv3d files are really something else? I will say no more :)
