Hi All,
I'm trying to cut a two sided dollhouse door. The door is symmetric about the long axis but the top and bottom are different. I figured out how to get the required tool paths for the location holes and cutouts using Partworks3d.
My question is about cutting the back side. Do flip the part along the Long/symmetric axis or the short non-symmetric axis.

Thanks Joe, I already looked at that but it doesn't help with Partworks 3D.
PW3D works off of a stl solid model and doesn't provide any guidance on how it needs to flip the part.
I guess I'll just try it on a scrap piece and se what happens

If you run the job in preview mode you should be able to tell where the top is on the flipped door.

Nick,
If the long edge is aligned to your X axis (parallel), then you would want to flip the door in the Y direction (away from you). Then machine the 2nd side.
Just as a reminder, be sure to mic out your material and/or prepare it to exact dimensions. Any deviation in the Y or Z axis will result in 2X the deviation and the part will be off.
Also, you may want to add some ambient/extra material to the length of the door both top & bottom to assist in your hold down efforts. Be sure to put a tab of appropriate length at both ends to keep the part in place.
