Well this should give Shark a run for their money but apart from that, its really great to see a computer included. The 8 inches of Z caught my attention and it seems to be metal construction. 36 by 36 is a useable size too I reckon. How long before Festool and Makita enter this field?

The computer might be included, but it is spec'd pretty oddly - how did they get 4.2 G of RAM? And the, "or better" part. There is no way that this is in any way better than supplying your own computer - in fact, I'd prefer my own 8 yr. old one I Use on the 'Bot, now...

"Mach 3 software – VELOX CNC will install and test on included computer" That means they are using an off the shelf computer - no testing for anything but that Mach 3 works.

Warranty requires the return of the machine. And with no bracing on the gantry, it appears to be pretty prone to distortion...

Just my thoughts...

I bet warranty only cover shipping one way. lol...I have never had a problem with my shop bot, (other than the ones I caused.) However I know shop bot would have sent me any part and walked me through the repair. Just think of the down time having to box it up send it back to the factory wait till it is repaired and shipped back. I sweat if I brake a bit and I have to wait a day or two to get another one. lol... Just imagine the poor bloke who has a job on dead line and his cnc goes down. Weeks waiting to get back up running, where as with shop bot most problems can be fixed as soon as the part arrives (which one could pay overnight if needed) I bet the reason they want it shipped back so they can learn from what went wrong. lol...
I also bet that if it turns out that it is your fault you pay repair and shipping both ways. lol another fly by night company...trying to copy the best.

But it IS 3'X3'X8", and most importantly another American Made option. Also I've only had a couple of problems with Woodcraft. and they straightened those out promptly. I'm sure for some hobbyist or light duty user with a limited pocket book this might fill a gap. I kept expecting to see "Made in China" there and glad I didn't.

I bought one of the first desk top model from carvewright in Las Vegas at the wood workers show it work great for one or two projects. BUT I HAD to kept sending it back to Texas( Total 5 Times at $100.00 each way) to get them to fix it and what was funny they could not tell me what they had to fix top secret or I would get could not find problem what to do Bought my self a Buddy at the Las Vegas show 4 years ago took it home from there wired it in and never looked back guess who got my carvewright TED HALL and he gave me a lot of knowledge to work with.

Now if it were me I would have had a "destruction of Carvewright kegger party" for my guys Friday night after work, but knowing Ted he likely turned it over to Scott or Gordon for analysis!!
