I run the very last of the PRT's and for 10 years I have had no problems. And still haven't with the shopbot. But today the computer I run the machine with gave up the ghost and refused to read the hard disc, So I have installed the controll software on another computer. The installation seems ok, but it doesnt show correct in the preview. To make myself clearer, On my main computer, the one I design on, the preview shows fine. I copy the file across top the new computer. I read it in the file edit and it is identical to the one i copied. I look at previes and it isnt showing correct. What am I or am I not doing? As you may imagine, I have some material on the table waiting to be cut for an anxious customer!!!

What isn't showing correctly in the preview? Have you selected the right tool or set the same tool database in both computers?

Mike,
The SB previewer was changed to one developed by Vectric some time around v3.5.5 or after. I don't recall if you need PartWorks or another Vectric program installed to be able to use the newer previewer. I guess the idea was if you bought a SB in the past 7+ years, you got the Vectric software with it & in turn, required previewer dependencies. If you have PartWorks, install it and see if that makes your previewer work.
If not, you can DL and older version of SB3 from here & use the older previewer: http://www.shopbottools.com/mSupport/SBCSarchive.htm

The previewer is stand alone and will work without any other Vectric software installed. It can be setup to use a common tool database between the programs if required.
Need a bit more info really like what versions you're running on the two machines and what it is that is wrong with the preview.

Previewer from all 3.6 works fine without any Vetric installed. Pretty sure 3.8 does too as I think that's what's on my shop design computer but I'm not there now.
Adrian and I hit it at the same time.
