Getting started with my PRTalpha Buddy

Hi,

I have recently acquired a PRTalpha Buddy and am getting it set up.

I have two questions that I haven't found referenced in the archives.

1. During C3 X-Y Calibration, the table is overshooting the proximity switches. I verified the function of the proximity switches via the lighting up of the corresponding input box on the Shotbot control software. What would be the next step in troubleshooting this?

2. During the C5 Spindle warm up, the spindle starts at 9000 RPM but then does not change even after the two 180 second pauses. I have the HSD Spindle/Yaskawa VFD and have verified the Yaskawa Drive settings for use with my ShopBot. What would be the next step in troubleshooting this?

For the spindle is the correct on checked on the yellow fill in page. When you trigger the prox switches do they light up on the SB screen You may have the wrong one selected under the values screen

As Jerry mentioned, I would ensure that your proximity switches are correctly setup in your values. In terms of the spindle not updating RPM, ensure that you have the Spindle RPM Control Window open; [TR] from the control window or [T]ools>Spindle [R]PM Control.

In addition to what has been said, run the TS command for 'ShopBot Setup' - check that you have a ZZero plate & Proxy switches & follow the 'Make it Easy on Me' instructions to set them up. Then C3 should work as expected.
