If you have used Artcam Express to import 3d vectors, and subsequently create a tool path that will correctly carve them on a SHOPBOT DESKTOP, which Machine File Format do you use when you are creating this tool path, i.e. in Artcam Express software?. There are over 20 Shopbot Machine File Formats listed. How do I know which one needs to be used for the Shopbot Desktop CNC?

Roger, I don't think this answers your question, but with our 2 Desktops and only VCPShopbotEdition we don't HAVE a selection of PP's. Just ShopbotTC(inch)(*.SBP)

Post a screen cap of the options you have. Post processors do tend to be pretty descriptive, but you may be having trouble interpreting abbreviations. You've probably got options for units (in/mm), that should cut your choices in half. Unless you have a tool changer, don't go with an ATC (automatic tool changer) post. There may be choices that say arc and ones that don't. This typically refers to how the post processor generates circles. An arcs post will use the circle commands built into the shopbot software which may generate smoother circles (depending on options set in the control software). The non arc post will break the circles up into very small line segments ( actually this is what the control software does too). The arcs post processor will generate a smaller file, so unless you have a need for a non arcs post, use the arcs version. Hopefully that helps narrow your choices.

Scott and Sean,
Thanks for you guidance. I will try the arc version PP.
