I have sent out some emails to find out where this next scene is from. I really love this scene as it reminds me when stationed over seas.

This is Cypress measuring approx. 8" x 10" x .5"
Started out with .25 endmill to get rid of some of the bulk.
The finishing was completed with .0625 ballnose with a 10% step over at .83 IPS.

Terry, Is that Really .5" stock? Incredible effect if so. Looks like a 10/4 relief!
Great work on both pieces today:)

Thanks

Scott,
Yes, this is .5". Carved both pieces posted last night out of the same blank of Cypress. Placed the model just .06 below the surface to take in account of any variation in the stock's thickness.
Thank you so much for your comments.

Bob,
Purchased and imported this model from E Bay into Aspire 4.5. Tweaked the thickness, size and depth to fit in the stock I had on hand.

Bob and Jeff,
Thank you both for you comments. It is so much fun to see image develop into a scene that you feel you can walk through.

By the look of the spire towers looks eastern, maybe even Russian.
Of course it could be just be a couple of scenes cobbled together.

Terry,
After seeing this, I went and ordered the relief myself. Just curious, how long did it take to carve?

The perspective of that piece is really awesome. It is really hard to believe it is only 1/2" inch stock. How long did it take to cut?

Where on Ebay did you go to find the clip art for this piece?

Just in case Terry doesn't see that question if you search ebay for 3d stl models there is a ton of stuff. A lot of what I see there is being sold but also available for free on:
http://hobbycncart.com/load/ingyenesen_letoltheto_reliefek/3

It takes a while to go through the hobbycnc library, but quite a lot has been shared there.

Sorry guys, I have been out of town. I think it took about 16 hours. .0625 ballnose at a 10% step over. I did get from eBay.
