Hello and Thanks ahead of time.
I received my diamond drag bit today and I know I have to set the Z myself instead of the normal way . I asked Brady he agreed but I've never done it before and ran into a problem and didn't want to bug him again so if some can fill in the blanks . I put a piece of paper on the acrylic , hit the K button set the X and Y ahead of time. Walked the bit down and loaded the spring on the bit.
Now here is were I need help what do I do before I raise the bit back up and zero x and y , then load file . Sorry I'am still learning the software with no help except for you guys . Jeff :confused:

unless there is something special about this drag bit like any other settings you

take your Z to the surface and Zero the Z at that point.
then raise it up say 1 inch
then zero your X and Y (or you can do this step previous to setting the Z) at either the center of material (which is what i do) or lower left.

Jack I get that what I'am not sure of after you walk the z down manually what do you do next before raising it what buttons? I did it the regular way and it completely compressed the bit than when I ran the file it compressed the bit to far and leaves scrape marks on the outside edges of the scribed lines.

Type 0Z to zero the Z within the keypad. Else, type ZZ.

Program your drag to only go a MAX of .02-.03" in a single pass so that it is preloaded a little. Adjust depth as needed to get optimum results. Keep speeds 0.5-1 IPS on XY.
