have anyone tried using a usb parallel port.
as most newer computers do nor carry a parallel port.

I used this one in the past (way in the past)

Looks about the same as it did 6 years ago. As I remember it worked after I downloaded drivers, the ones on the CD didn't work.

I would steer clear of that if you intend to use it to control a CNC. There are PCI/PCIe to parallel expansion cards with low latency that are suited for motion control. If you are just using it to interface to an old printer or plotter (DB25 to Centronics) then you should be OK.
