Office Signs

What material is used for office signs that have a sliding placard with a name on it - see attached picture - has anyone carved these?

I used to get that from Johnson Plastics (SC maybe), mostly used by Laser Engravers or the Rotary Engravers.

if you have a laird plastics in your area I have machined way to many of the Rowmark plastics material. just be mindful, as they are cast acrylic products so material thickness varies. just just need to open the surface (scratch engrave)versus pocketing or v carving.
