I am trying to find out if I can change the spindle speed on the fly. I have tried to change the speed while setting up my bits. I put 10000 in and it goes to 12000 when I start the file up. I am trying to find a good speed so my bit wont be screaming. As far as I know I can only set the feed rate when I set up the file, so maybe I can move the spindle speed up or down while cutting a file.Is this possible?
thanks Perry

I do it directly on the VFD when I'm dialling in a new job.

In the help files (in the control menu) there is a keyboard shortcut pdf. There is a shotcut for changing the speed on the fly when running a part file. Shift + = Increase Spindle Speed and Shift - = Decrease Spindle Speed. In the part file, the command for setting the spindle speed is "TR, 14000" for spindle speed 14,000 . Try changing your file.

Like Adrian, I too just change the RPMs on the VFD. That is simple, which is why I do it that way! Chuck
