Did you guys/gals see today's Vetric Newsletter #59.
As a soon to be ShopBot owner with no cnc experience, his looks like a lot of fun.
Vectric bought CNC Mini-Projects and the designs that they have been/will create works with Aspire.

This is not a paid for commercial. But it sure provides a lot of good anticipation for getting started with my new machine - someday.
Comments from any previous design users?

This is not a commercial either but I have used a number of mini-projects designs through the years and they are great! I bought the daisy design when Todd was just setting up the business (Check out the Pearl sign on the website. I did that for my mother!). Can't wait to see what Vectric does with the brand!

Thanks for response Mike. They have lots of designs that interest me. Am curious about learning curve.

Aubrey,
What software are you getting? If you get Aspire, I would work through the free projects first and then start looking at this stuff. The great part about mini-projects is the hacks - taking one project and combining with others. You can see it on their website. There are any number of people here who will gladly help you get going!

Mike-I think I will go to Aspire and use a spindle. I certainly appreciate your design you made for Pearl. That's an example of where I want to go in my first year of ownership. My youngest son is also a graphic designer and we have lots of ideas to aim for. Aluminum projects have his interest. We'll see?

Aubrey, Just a thought, but as long as you're probably going to wait for #001 of the steroidal Desktop:) You might want to keep an eye on Aspire 5.0 at the same time-- Just a lot of hints so far that it will be early 2015, but it would save you the upgrade(they only charge for upgrades between # series ie 3.* to 4.* etc.).
Also buy Aspire from Shopbot as they will credit you for the $765? that you would have got standard VCarvePro for. Then you should be current for a few years with free upgrades until they get to Aspire 6.0.

Upgrades for Vectric products are free for 12 months after purchase regardless if it's a "dot" release or new version.
