I do some engraving for some of my long term local customers , but am having some problems recently with same font v carving differently .
All settings have been check and double checked.
It seems to want to cut further into the corners to try to make it square but ends up leaving a flare
I would appreciate any help or suggestions
Thanks Kevin

Kevin…
I can’t tell from your image but what you’re describing sounds like a mismatch between the v-bit angle toolpathed, and the one that’s actually in the router/spindle.

VERY Blurry here.
What Machine and Hold down method? Recent you said, has anything changed?

Another possibility, not z-zeroed accurately to the top of the material…

Better Kevin, but still not the detail to see what it's doing. Zooming in is just pixelating it here.
Any chance material is not firmly down on a flat table?
I got similar to what you mentioned a couple times on bowed thin stock where when the bit slowed down it enabled the bit to cut deeper. Usually in the corners.

check the surface that the material is on, it should be perfectly flat, make sure that you have good hold down and check the tool, see if the tip is broken, also, make sure that zeroing is consistent.
