Been 6 months and time to replace my MDF deck on my Shopbot Desktop.

Does anyone know where to find the VCarve part file that has the right drilling pattern for an 18" x 24" work surface?

Thanks,

Brett

There are quick start files that came with your bot (or you can get them from shopbot) that will give you the stock setup.
That said there is no right way to make your tabletop.

You could also just glue a new piece of mdf to your top.

Thanks Kyle. Where did you find those quick files?

Brett, Go to page 38. Should help if you did a standard install--may need the "Get carving quickly" cd installed(I can't remember). If you lost it, go to my contact info and e-mail me and I'll shoot it off.

That is a great idea, why make another top when I can just glue a new one on. Thanks.

When gluing a new one on you do lose some z. It may be worth it to shave your old one down as far as you safely can first.

It's a whole lot more trouble to glue them than it is just to cut a new top. To get a lot of patterns do this;

Install the shopbot control software on the machine you are using
In Aspire go to the browser for installed clip art and select Add Folder
In the window that opens go to x86 and find the Shopbot file
Once you open it you will find a file with quite a number of different vacuum table designs use the window to permanently show these files in your clipart selection on Aspire, you can import these designs into an Aspire drawing by just dragging them.

I found the Shopbot folder, but not the files you describe. Can you give the subfolder? Thx
