Wow, very impressive and great creative work-around for your parts availability situation. I am curious to see some printed parts!

Go on YouTube and check out some that are printing. Amazing at the speed and accuracy. I wonder if you could adapt a spindle on it to do 3d carving faster

Gene.. This is the youtube that made me think of making 3D printer... I am using magnetic joint ( cheap magnets) so i don't think the Effector shall take the lateral forces of carving tool ;)... For carving CNC machine is best choice that i have...
I want to make plastic parts with thin walls so i decided to make delta printer....

I needed a bigger bed to print large 3D models....so back to the drawing board (computer), spent an hour designing the bed that can capable of accommodating PCB heater and metallic plate 340mm diameter that i salvaged from DART GAME ... Fired my CNC machine, The bed was two sided machined out of 16mm MDF and took one hour to complete... I used 16mm and 6.5mm end mill cutters and 3mm drill bit .... The last picture shows how accurately the plate set on the MDF bed
I needed the 1mm CS galvanized plate on the bed because the inductive proximity probe shall be used to autolevel/auto calibrate the bed...
Will share some more picture of final assembly on the machine.

You're getting a lot of mileage out of $12 worth of dartboards:)

if DART GAME maker knows the complete kit being used in 3D printer they will hike the price of it http://forum.seemecnc.com/images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Here is a small video of autocalibration:

I think i have to install some round (spherical tips) over the magnet to get a good grip on ball...

Today was the first test print... PLA 215 Nozzle and 75C bed temperature...used white http://forum.seemecnc.com/images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif glue stick. The raft was detached but the brim was solidly adhered to the bed till the end of the print..
