Just in case anyone wanted to get an idea of the temp range the router may operate at here are some samples.
Settings were at 2ips @ 13k rpm.

Interesting images… What material was being cut? It looks like the feed speed needs to be increased to reduce the bit temperature…

I believe it was oak being cut, the temp of the bit was about 80 degrees I think.
1/8" ball nose.

80°F would be perfect! I made an assumption of Celsius..

When I get around to cutting aluminum I will post those pics also.
I'm planning on fine tuning the speeds while monitoring the temps in real time.
I "should" be able to detect the heat absorption and spread into the material as it warms up.
I will also have to rerun all these test in the middle of the summer and see if it makes much of a difference.

Which Flir product are you using?
I'm using their E-series camera, I had the i7 but I find this new msx technology in their e-series superior.

I have found nightmare issues with a used RV after a rain with this, its probably a gadget that would destroy many sales on a used RV lot.
