Hi,
I have a PRT (modified benchtop) with a 4g board with 5 driver slots all occupied - 2 on X, 2 on Y and a Z. I want to add another Z spindle, so need another driver. The software seems to have room for 6, so is there any way of wiring in another gecko? I do not want to reduce the X or Y arrangement as this works brilliantly with the heavy hardwoods I tend to machine. I could possible set up a park and switch routine for the Z drive, as I will only want to use one Z at a time, but will need to do it within the same program.
Any help or suggestions on this very welcome. Thanks,
Ralph

Ralph,
It's been a while since I've messed with a 'loaded up' 4G, but I think there is an area on the board near the ATX Molex where you can add the dip switches, fuse and pull step & direction for the 5th channel. I would contact SB to be sure that is the proper 'tap' for this. They may even be able to send you all the goodies you need to do it.

Thanks Brady,
I will definitely contact SB first when/if I go down this route.
Allbest,
Ralph.
