I'd like to get some numbers for a Canadian camp in the spring to be held in the Ottawa area. Please send me a note and include info on your machine, what type of work you do and if you can hold 20-30 people in your shop.

If i'm in the province you can count me in. I believe you know what I've got/use. I barely fit in my work area, let alone anything else!

Still here in Brighton after 5 years of Botting. Glen Peterson is just north of me. We canucks are a shy bunch donchaknow....Might be moving this fall so I am a dont know right now....I think Dale Kerr is back in the game and at last sighting was still in the Ottawa area. Dales responsible for my having a shopbot so "the great master" should be there for the second gathering this decadee.

Hi Dave!

Eddie and I will definitely be there barring a natural disaster!

Thanks again for showing us your shop, your vacuum hold down system is definitely on our to do list.

We have a spanking new PRStandard Buddy 32, PC. I'm trying to get into pattern making but have yet to reel one in yet.

I can barely fit 2-3 ppl in my "shop" so I'm off the list of potential shop locations.

Are you guys still thinking about a Camp this Spring? Seems like we need a location for a start.....

I could rent a spot and loan a BT32 standard with Aspire as a start...

Gerald,
Thanks for your offer. Dave Skinner has offered the use of his shop, and we're at the point of trying to work out a time frame. We usually need about 3 months of lead time to make a Camp work, and fit into the existing schedule. That puts us into mid April , and that's right around the time we'll be setting up for the Shopbot Jamboree in Durham.
Then we'll be headed back out to Northern California in late May to do the Maker Faire again so we have a few options;
Try for something around the beginning of May
Aim for something in June
Shoot for a time slot in the Summer
Maybe we can get some type of informal "survey" sorted out here on the Forum ( soon) that will tell us what would work best for everyone within those time frames ( AND with Dave's shop schedule...).

Bill , lets keep working with Dave . I would prefer to meet at a working shop and not a rented space . Thanks Gerald for the offer but I think you would also benefit from a larger space and machine to demonstrate . Dave is quite an inventive guy and has mods on his machine you might not see other places .

Looking forward to whenever we get together . Late spring/early summer works fine for me . Who knows with Gary Campbell moving north maybe we could invite him over . Michigan and Ontario are practically best friends

Well I was thinking that April may still have stormy weather. Early May our wives will have us have us pruning, digging, planting, transplanting, clipping, seeding, mowing anything and everything. May 24 weekend is for recuperating. So I was thinking the weekend of June 5. Everyone chime in now so we can this planned.

If June 5th is the working date that best fits everyone's schedule, we're on !
As Dave points out above, we'll get the logistics started, and he'll provide directions, etc. This will give us some time to get the word out as well.
Start thinking about what you want to cover...
