Thought I'd share.
Here is what I setup with the shelving I bought that I mentioned in the products forum. The first section in front I already had the uprights and beams for 4 shelves but no decking. I purchased a matching second section (in back) extra beams to make 5 shelves and the wire deck as mine had 2x4's for shelving. It is centered on one of my exterior rollup doors, the intent from the beginning. The rack can be loaded from outside and the scissor cart can be used to help transfer material from the racks directly over to the bot. Heavy stuff toward the bottom, lighter stuff toward the top. Including the floor I get a total of 12 positions. The floor position is 16" and the rest are 12" spacing.

I'm still loading it up, there won't be that much empty space much longer. It sure is nice to have solid storage, it's long over due.

I think i have doubled that since that picture taken. The problem is how much lumber will we all have still laying around when we die?

Yep, that looks like my rack at the other shop I haven't emptied yet. Been thinking about using craigslist to empty it and starting my collection over.

There is no such thing as waste lumber, it's just parts that I don't know where they fit yet. :-)

I used to say that I was saving wood to use when I retire… Now I don’t have an excuse!

If you think that's bad, you haven't seen what's INSIDE the shop!

What does it mean when you have to step over piles of wood and tools to get around?
(I think he may be right!)

Jack,

Isn't there a realty TV show on the subject?

John,
That looks like the inside of my shop. There isn't a uncluttered horizontal surface. Too many tools, not enough space.
