A quick update to the CNC Users Workshop Kansas. September 21st & 22nd .

Registration has been going very well, but time is running out for those still wanting to attend . Cut off date is September 7th unless we reach capacity before that, also the low rate motel rooms we arranged cuts off on the 7th as well.

That being said, James is working on the models that we will be working with over the course of the workshop and we may post some photos of them if time permits.
For registered attendee's don't forget your show and tell items and if you have cnc related parts you wish to sell we will have a table available.

More updates to follow later, for the registration form there is a link above or for additional info and registration form you may use this link www.beckwithdecor.com/workshop.html (http://www.beckwithdecor.com/workshop.html)

Couple of notes for the CNC Workshop KS
The cut of date of the 7th is just about on us. Even though we are at capacity for this format of workshop if anyone is wanting to register contact me, I don't want to turn anyone down that wants to make the journey, I will accept registrations after the 7th but you won't get a T-Shirt.

Chris Burns who will be doing the session on the Shopbot Software contacted me this morning to inform us that Shopbot will be shipping the benchtop unit to the workshop, so for those in this area here's your chance to see the latest coming out of the Shopbot development team, For those in the midwest, you can catch it a week later at John Forney's camp.

Thanks Gary for a great camp.

Complements to our good friends Bill P, James B, Chris B, John and my backup Doug.

It's a pleasure see so many my old friends and exchange new idea's and techniques. The newbe's are such a pleasure to watch as they get comfortable, let their hair down, and start asking questions. We wish all them well. Good new firends all.

Many regrets for showing up late, just in time to catch to end of James Booths V-Carve Pro presentation. He really knows his stuff. I was able to give him a few presentation hints anyway. He wrote down everyting I said and I could tell he was encouraged.

Best to all,

Joe

Thanks Gary for a great CNC users camp. You, Doug, and Joe organized this one in outstanding sequence. Started with V-Carv file creation sequentially thru product finishing. James Booth was outstanding in his presentation of V-carv pro 4.0 and its features. Bill P. was full of tips as usual and Joe C's. demo on "Snake Oil" masking just put the finishing touches to a FULL 2 days.
If I can use half the tips/information I will be forever greatful. I am looking forward to the next one and hope to see you all there.

Gary, next time leave a little dust in the shop to make it look a little like the rest of ours

I'd like to also add my thanks to Gary for all of the work he did to pull this Camp together. As anyone who attended will tell you his shop is surgically clean and organized, and so was the schedule of events during the two days we were there.
We had some good Show and Tell samples brought in, and we'll have pix of the event on both the Flickr page, and Blog page later today...

Gary,

Great job with the camp this year, you even had one "actual RV camper" in the parking lot...

Sorry I forgot to sign my $45 check when I sent it over..

Aside from having lumber dropping off a truck on the road on the way over, everything was great.

I think it should be noted, James and Jo-Anne G. are very faithful camp attendees traveling long distances each year. It was 12 hours this year and they came through in good spirits. Good to see you guys again.

I would like to thank everyone that helped make our CNC Workshop KS a successful event again this year. From our presenters, James, Tom, Bill, Chris, John and Joe, our sponsers Artsoft, Carve 3D, EZ-Router, New Fangled Solutions, Shopbot Tools, Vector Art 3D and Vectric Ltd and of course the attendee's who once again travelled hundreds of miles to make the event.
A Special thanks to James Booth who gave his time and expertise to create the models for the workshop which I believe are now available on Vectorart3d.com
To my good friends Doug Strickland down in OK who never failed to answer my beckon call when ever I needed help with anything and to Joe Crumley, who's fountain of knowledge and ability to produce something special never ceases to amaize I say thanks.

I hope everyone had an enjoyable time and went away with some new-gained knowlegde. As I was just a little side tracked to take photos this year I would appreciate if those that did take photos forward them on to me thanks
Gary

Just as a matter of interest Joe, apart from Dan being local you had one of the shortest driving times with 3hrs I believe Leon got honors by making his 2nd year drive from Florida. Harry & Carol did it in style by taking the Amtrack out of New Mexico and of course James & Joe-Anne at 12 hours.
With just a rough calulation, the average travel time for all attending was around 6.15 hrs. Now thats dedication!!!!!!!!!
