Registration is now OPEN for the 2015 Georgia Camp ShopBot on Saturday, April 25! We will be returning once again to Georgia State University's Sculpture Department in Atlanta, and hosted by Assistant Professor Mike Wsol. This year we will be meeting in their new location! Exact address will be posted within the next week. So stay tuned.

In the meantime, you can still register-- GEORGIA CAMP SHOPBOT (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1zjOzMPKoXQpxcNR0SYMEFEYlgcr-xuALhcecMK1XQy8/viewform)

Camp ShopBots are a great way to meet other ShopBot users, to learn new techniques, and tips on pushing your machine (and yourself!) to new levels. They are FREE to attend and lunch is included. :D Camps are intended for all ages and skill levels. Teachers and their students are encouraged to participate, too.

Professor Wsol has been teaching a digital fabrication class for about a year now. It will be great to see how his students have progressed.

Registration is highly encouraged, so that we and our host can plan accordingly. An email to all registrants will be sent out 1 week prior to the Camp with parking information, maps and other details.

Schedule: Saturday, April 25, 2015

9am-noon: Morning presentations

Sure wish it was a different location. True, a block or so from last year's location but still the same area.

Here are the details for next week's Camp: PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF ADDRESS! Sorry about this.

Address: 184 Edgewood Ave. NE, Atlanta, GA 30303 (please note change of address) - https://goo.gl/maps/DQvNX
Our host is Mike Wsol from GSU's Sculpture Department. Unfortunately we will not be meeting in their fresh new space but in their current location, same as last year for those of you who attended. We will have a Camp ShopBot sign out front. There will be someone to greet you at the entrance and direct you to the presentation room.

Parking: There are a few parking options but the best is the "M Deck" parking garage. It is about 2 blocks from the Camp location. There is also some street parking but you must 'feed the meter'. Here is the location of the parking garage: https://goo.gl/maps/dnlA4

What to bring: A notebook or tablet computer is sometimes helpful at Camps to take notes, along with business cards to hand out if you have them. You will not need safety glasses.

Show and Tell Session: A great part of Camps is the Show and Tell session: It offers everyone a chance to actively participate. Floor space as well as tables will be available. If you do large work or client commissions, bring photographs to display. No matter if it is a ShopBot-made jig or beginner test piece or commissioned 3D carving, having lots of examples really enriches the Camp experience for everyone!

Schedule:
8:30-9am: Morning sign-in/Meet & Greet (Coffee and doughnuts provided. Please arrive before 9am.)
9am-Noon: Morning presentations
Noon-1pm: Lunch (A vegetarian option is available. If you have serious dietary restrictions we encourage you to pack a lunch.)
1-2pm: Show and Tell session
2-4pm: Afternoon presentations
The Camp will wrap up between 4:30-5pm.

See you next Saturday!
