inlay allowance setting?

While creating an inlay pocket, in order to increase the size of the pocket .004 I set my allowance to -.004. However when I view the tutorial, the person used the positive .004 to increase the size of the pocket. Do I have a setting somewhere that has reversed the function?

We have aspire on 20 pcs, most need to be (+) to get the right size pocket but I have had the odd one where (-) is what we need.
You can check in the preview to see what way you need to go by putting in a large offset and seeing how it looks.

I'm guessing there is something wrong with the few pcs that need it be (-).
