I remember being 12 yrs old and Gramp DEMANDED that Dad take us to see the last river drive in '72 :)
Mainly remember Gramp said kids could make 25 WHOLE cents a DAY "spudding" the bark off the logs:)
I didn't see what the big deal was then, but it was the end of an age, and very glad he did.
Didn't know anybody in Maine was reclaiming this now until NPR had an interview. "Blue Oak" sound interesting:)
