Harry..bat house design advice needed

Harry,
Since you are the expert here i need your advice. A friend wants me to build her a bat house and with all the different designs out there I figured you would have recommendations for the best design I could build (other then yours!) I'm not asking for your designs.

Some recommend a hanging mesh, others have the grooves. I would think the grooves would last longer then a mesh that could get torn over time, or they could get tangled in it.

Do you make the grooves in both the back board and the front inside face? What do you make for a landing pad? (more grooves?)

Jack, there are several videos that expose the insides of our bat houses. We also have a new single chamber kit released that will be offered in a 2 and 3 chamber soon as well.
