Will probably never be sure but from the date/time stamps it started
to propagate soon after I downloaded the sbOdometer gadget- which
is a zip and I am pretty sure I never got around to unzipping. I have
a LAN with 12 computers and a couple of terabites of files. Fortunately
I am a psycho about incremental backups and they seem OK so I should
be OK. I hope. Search your system for help_decrypt files (several file
types). :(

One of my worst fears. Yahoo ads were hacked for a while and spreading crypto ware. Basically, when you clicked on a Yahoo ad, it downloaded ransomware.

I'm sure this goes on more than we know. I no longer EVER click an ad even if it is legit and it's something I want. Imagine when YouTube get's hacked (not if but when) "Click here..." = "Don't EVER click there".
