Yeah, I'll start troubleshooting later right now I'm just so done for today that this is a nice quirky mystery to top it off.

For everyone's entertainment, check this out.

Now, I've had some curious happenings lately with random disconnects and stalls, perhaps as Brady suggests that's a relay going bad, but any failures at least made sense. For this particular run it is from a file that has ran numerous times before without a problem. In this case, there are 5 of these side parts that are perpendicular to all the other parts run on the 1/4 sheet of material. I didn't want to waste the end of the 1/4 sheet so I just added a short section of 5.

Here is the layout.

I've cut hundreds of these with no problems.
Well... it would SEEM that my xy zero shifted after loosing steps or something, but the wrong cuts to produce this results come in the MIDDLE of the file. So... it appears when it moved over to start cutting that stage of those parts the X zero shifted for 5 consecutive cuts (that's a cut, z up, jog, z down, cut etc...) then returned to normal after those 5 cuts.

If the entire file was shifted from that point forward, OK.
If those were the last cuts before the file completed, OK
If ONLY ONE of the 5 was shifted, then I could say the next jog returned it to sanity, OK
...but only those specific 5 cuts and nothing else is shifted?

I also checked, no mechanical problems and the machine parked on 0,0 when it stopped. I've seen some head scratchers but this has me stumped.

So, I think someone is playing games with me and I just need to take a break. Engaging "break" mode.

UPS is picking up 67 kits for shipment today, I think I earned a break anyway.

Thinking out loud...

I'm thinking there was something on the table that prevented the gantry from getting to the correct locations.

I've seen a case (with a PRT) where a piece of 2x6 (about 7" long) was left in the lower right corner of the table. The block (one of two blocks) is used for aligning a 4x8 sheet of plywood before cutting starts. Once the sheet is aligned the blocks are SUPPOSED to be removed by the operator. If it isn't the gantry cannot get to the correct places. With a PRT, this means everything after that cut is misaligned. With a PRT-Alpha I would guess that the machine corrects its location when it can.

Just another thought...

Now, I'm waiting to learn what really happened. :D
