As with my laser engraving I use masking prior to color filling, but on wood is there a preferred choice of tape?

I've tried 3M (blue) and find it seems to be a little on the thin side but seems to peel off easier than this other pro masking tape I also tried

I'm also looking for the best way to cover a large area quickly vs strip after strip of tape

Avery paint mask is commonly used. They make several different sticky strength. Not sure which you need. I lost all that info last year. I'm sure someone else will chime in.

Just contact your local sign supply shop.

I use the wide 'transfer' tape that the vinyl cnc machine guys use (as suggested, from the local sign supply shop). After cutting I very lightly overspray with clear. This seals the edge of the cuts which helps eliminate some of the bleed issues, and then I do my coloring of the cut area. Russ
