I am wondering if there are any differences between them when doing 2D, 2.5D,V Carving and full 3D?

There is a thread now that the PO is having some issues with v-carving and I am wondering if Artcam would have the same issues?

Most errors of that type in either art-cam or aspire is machine or operator error.

I never have issues in aspire with vcarving - my current issue seems to be my setup and bit choices

Yes there are differences. All toolpaths except for 3D rough/finish machining, are better in Vectric...but I wouldn't say they are $5500 more, better.

Probably. His vectors are probably junk. What thread? Post a link...

So Artcam does 3d better? How so?

This issue from the link is a CNC routing challenge. No software can make a round tool (EG Square End Mill) cut a square corner...that I know of anyway.

Pro has some 3D algorithms borrowed from PowerMill. Most don't need them...and few who paid in, even know how to use them anyway. I would not say it 'does 3D better', as that seems like an awfully broad statement...I'll sharpen my proverbial pencil and say that it gives those who need it, a few more options...and there aren't many here who need it.

Over the past several years I find myself turning to Aspire first, and using Pro less and less.
