View Full Version : "Missing Comm Return" error

Suddenly my old PRT 48x96 ShopBot freezes after about two or three seconds into a file. Error reads:
"You are having difficulty communicating with the Control Box"
"Missing Comm Return."

Checked all my connections, inside and out. Still no go. What would you check next?

Your USB and/or serial cord and ports are next on the list for checking.
They do go bad.
Also make sure you didn't get some service turned on by an update that is now hogging memory.

That would be the best and cheapest fix. I'll hope in that direction and test out those parts.

Mike,
You said you checked all connections, so I didn't post, but just emptied my DustDeputy yesterday and noticed some mild oxidation on my bare copper wire ground connection where it hit some bare steel(which had some too). Scuffed it with 150G and put it back together.
Wasn't causing any problems yet but just mentioning.
Static season approaching.
