I purchased an Onsrud 57-280 1/4" down cut bit for cutting 1/2" plywood. When I was using in Vcarve pro at my maker space, the tool library had an Onsrud 57-910. I looked on Onsrud's website and it says the 57-910 is heavy duty, but I didn't find any additional info about it. I'd like to know the difference between these two bits.

Call onsrud. They will be glad to give you the precise differences.

According to their catalog the 900 series is designed for aggressive cutting when extreme loads are put on the tools and extra holddown is required and the 200 series is designed for a higher quality finish.
An end view of the two shows the 900 to be beefier in the central core and the flute edges although they both have a 30 degree helix.

If you don't alrerady have an Onsrud catalog you should get one. They contain a wealth of good info about bits, how to choose, chiploads, etc.

Thanks. I don't have their catalog, but I requested one.
