Details first: Buddy 24x32 running 3.6.38. Control computer is laptop running Windoze 7.

Tool was running fine 2 weeks ago. Tried to cut a previously cut pattern and I received errors after loading toolpath that the file could not be found. Repeated, regenerated toolpath and still the same result. Upgraded to 3.8.40 to see if that would have an impact. Now I can't connect to the tool. I'm getting an error stating "Shopbot seems present but is not responding."
Status showing inputs 2&3 yellow and input 4 red. Going to open the control box and check wiring. Any other sage inputs would be appreciated.

Working now. Confirmed everything in control box tight. Ultimately took the USB extender (24") out of line and tested with other USB ports. Finally recognized it on one of the other ports. Don't have root cause of the failure, but I've got a working machine. Just keep my eye on it for a while.

Had this happen to me a while back and it continued for quite a while and got worse as time went on and it ended up being a bad ribbon cable and a bad motherboard.

Reviewing several similar issues in this forum makes it sound like the solutions are all over the map. From cables/motherboard issues like you point out to grounding of the dust collector. Weather here in Raleigh area got really cold and dry over the past several days. I'm wondering if the really low humidity played a part. Either that or solar flares. I probably won't ever know for sure.
