Ok I didn't know if this should be in the Sign Making area or in the ShopBot in Schools, I put it here because we are using the SB in a school setting.

Ok so here is my Question: I am wanting to get into making signs. The most we have done are simple things like using the TT or some AutoCad drawings, nothing fancy. The only software we have is AutoCad 2002. And I was wanting to make a sign for a place I work at part time.

So the short way is this: What does it take to get started in sign making?

I suggest two things. 1. Buy Patrick Spielman's book "Making Wood Signs". A google search should find a source. 2. Buy VCarve Pro from http://vectric.com. VCarve Pro will get you up to speed quickly.

Phil said it best. Ditto on what he said.
