I need some help. I am making some big white oak doors 1.5 x 39 x 96”. The specs call for all tenons and mortise joints. The tenons being .75" thick by 3” wide by 3" deep with mortise to match. I set up the Bot to do all the mortise and tenon joints. It cut them perfect except for one little problem. I cannot get it to cut either the mortise or tenon in the exact center of the stiles or the rail.
I had to move the bolt that the Proximity switch hits because it was so close it would stop the machine. I don’t think this is a software problem. I used Aspire 8 to draw the mortise and tenons . I centered them both automatically with the software and also manually by putting in the math. I got the same results either way. I feel like there something I should change or have to reset on the CNC. Any ideas you have or suggestions would be great.
Thank you,
Frank

Frank, instead of moving the target bolt, do a VN and turn the limits off while running this job. Depending on which target bolt you moved, you may have messed up your C3 homing routine values and it will need to be reset later.

Even though you moved the target bolt so that the limit switches don't trigger, could you be hitting the mechanical stop and losing steps, resulting in loss of location and cutting the tenon offset?

Precise XY zero location on your tenon blank and consistent thickness of the blanks will contribute to consistent accuracy.

Are you utilizing a corner zeroing plate? Essential for end milling.

Maybe I am not understanding, I tenon and mortise off the end a lot. For one at a time tenons or mortises I set up so xy zero is the center of the joint, I will use a v bit for a visual and manually move the machine and zero xy.then put in the bit I will cut the joint with set zzero and its ready to cut.

Again thank
