To kick off the Fall Camp ShopBot season, we will be in the nation's capital for the first DC/Arlington Camp ShopBot on Saturday, September 10!

Hosted by TechShop DC/Arlington (http://www.techshop.ws/arlington.html) (2110-B Crystal Dr. Arlington, VA 22202), join us for a day of topic-based presentations concerning all things ShopBot, from software to machining to maintenance.

Camps are intended for any skill level and all types of ShopBot users. We cover an array of topics that can be applied to any application such as how to calculate feed/speed rates and chipload and how to keep your machine tuned up and running smoothly. And other technique-based topics such as setting up a file and machining a 2-sided project, best practices in 3D carving, and tips for cutting plastics, foam and alternative materials.

Camps are free and lunch is included but registration is required to help in the planning:

Schedule:
8:30- 9am: Morning sign-in with light refreshments/Meet & Greet
9am- Noon: Morning Presentations
Noon- 1pm: Lunch break
1- 1:30pm: Show and Tell Session
1:30- 4pm: Afternoon Presentations
Camps usually wrap up by 4:15.

**Every Camp has a Show and Tell Session that lets you as the attendee show off your projects and talk a bit about your process. This is what makes each Camp really special and different: Seeing all the various things being created using the machines! Anything from a ShopBot-made jig, to a complex 3D carving, to a test piece gone wrong, to flatpack furniture, having an array of items really enhances the conversation. So get those projects finished and bring them along in September! We'll have floor space available as well as tables to set your projects on.**

This Camp is great for anyone living in Virginia, DC, and Maryland.

We are excited about next Saturday’s Camp ShopBot hosted by TechShop DC/Arlington on September 10! Sallye Coyle and Thea Eck from ShopBot will lead presentations on a variety of topics. Our guest presenter is Andy Pitts (http://www.andrewpittsfurnituremaker.com), who also has his own YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/AndyPitts1000). The ShopBot community has always been vibrant: At Camps, we encourage folks to chat with each other, learn from each other, and share.

We will have Camp ShopBot signage directing you to the correct presentation room and there will be TechShop staff on-hand to help out, too. They will offer tours of their facilities during lunch and at the end of the Camp.

Thank you to everyone who attended the DC/Arlington Camp this past Saturday. Thank you to Andy Pitts for doing a great presentation on carving a two-sided bowl. And thank you for Bill Young for adding in your insight throughout the day and presenting on FabMo/Handibot. Hope to see everyone next year.
