Unpacked my new DMax last night. I have a dedicated laptop, Win 8.1
Downloaded SB3 today, so latest version. Startup manual said to disable Internet during setup, so did. So during installation when a pop up that said An app on your PC needs the following Window feature:

.NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0) , I had to choose Skip this installation (your app might not work correctly)...

So after connecting to Internet, I ran setup again to get the NET files, still could not get past "USB Control Box Problem, I don't know/see how to know if the Control Box is on, and what IS the Control Box (was not labeled in the User Manual).

USB port between laptop and DMaxp good, power was on ( I heard noises when I turned the switch up ( but left the key in off position.

V204ShopBot is showing up, but as Driver Unavailable...
And none found on Internet. I'll keep reading and looking for the driver on the laptop, (something on page 39), but this is a frustrating start, and Tech support is busy! Thanks for any help while I keep trying

Ask SPECIFICALLY for Frank at Sales at the switchboard:) Used to be tech support:)
Pop up was probably your computer, not setup.
Unplug all power supplies, and maybe hit the breaker powering your set up also and wait 10 minutes.
Control box will be your E-stop most likely(if like baby Desktops)
Drivers should instal while you do step by steps.
Disable ALL updates and antivirus...make sure all notifications are addressed, and other people say different, but it's simplest if you never let it touch the internet, and get rid of anti-virus and all the gunk. By far the fastest of 3 computers is my control computer stripped down.
2 cents(except for Frank:)

Ok, problems solved with David from Tech Support, had to run through the process 3x before it kicked in, and I also was shipped not the latest Quick Start Guide, but have since downloaded it. Software hiccups too, I guess, plus older manual had me looking for files no longer so named, but at least the DMax up and running, so moving on to more setting up. Thanks Scott!
