I do a lot of glue ups, and I rip all of my wood to the size I need. Out of every load of wood I end up with wood that has damage or something wrong with it that I do not want to be part of my product. I have been saving it back, and cutting out the bad section and end up making something else out of it. Which ends up with more work on that board. well the other day I had printed off a copy of some product i was cutting to teach a class at a local high school. While preparing for that class I noticed these dead spots that was left after the product was cut out. I got to thinking if I know how far each product is and its location that I could fit that bad section into the glue up and the waste would not be missed at all since that area was waste anyway. This saved better wood for other places in the glue up.

Notice the dead or waste area's around the Ky cutting boards.
There are several area's that I can use wood with knots or defects that is already a waste area. This save time and money on doing it this way. Now all of my production cuts have a printed drawing so that I can look at as I glue up the Panels.
