I am in the process of designing a new shop and need all of your vast sources of ideas! I am looking for simple 3D images of woodworking tools (table saw, drill press, band saw, planer, dust collectors, etc., etc.) that I can import to Chief Architect and place where I want in a new room. Chief has great objects for cabinets, furniture, trees, landscape things and everything found in a house, but no tools that I can find.

.3DS, .OBJ, or .SKP files preferably. I have started looking to no avail because my brain doesn't comprehend search very well I guess. Thanks for your ideas.

I can't help, but "Chief Architect" was a blast from the past, as I used it in '94 to design my house:)
I can't even imagine how much it's changed.
Good luck!

Still has to be better than V1.3.
Grand total of 2 floppies to install!
3 Man carpentry crew kept wondering why the "Blueprints" were always letter sized paper off my printer, and I could disappear for a half hour and come back with new drawings:)
It was a Great visualization tool for a passive solar home!
AH, the good old days of Gateway, Compuserve, and dial-up....NOT.
Only thing I had to totally wing back then, was it would NOT accept angled glass for the greenhouse no matter how much I pleaded:)
Sorry not any help on your original request:(

I just drew rectangles the size of the tools or table and placed where I wanted them. Was able to run my wiring and lighting with the plan. Got the spacing I needed between tools and tables. Worked great for me. Used Aspire to draw the plan.

After placing all the tools where they need to be and coming up with whatever size you end up with on the final plans............double it.
