Combo Laser Cutting Machine

Not sure if this is in the correct place if not admin please move or delete. I have begun researching adding a Laser Cutter Engraver. I know many people on this forum also have Lasers and hope someone can clarify I am seeing 130w lasers that claim to be able to cut steel. I am not very knowledgeable but I did not think this was possible?

Hi Dan- I am very much into chicom lasers and have almost the same machine but it will not cut metal. Generally for metal a Fiber laser is used, very different technology, that said I think you can add oxygen to aid cutting metals. This is an interesting machine- I will ask on our laser forum for any further info. There are a lot of pitfalls with the chinese, their ethics system seems to be quite different from ours :). Depending on the metal most of what is cut around here is done using plasma tables. Thicker stuff is water jet cut. In the same price range as what you posted we have a local builder. ArcLight in Bend Or. Russ
