Anyone out there using Rigid vacs for your vac table?
One of our feins just melted :( and they do not make them any more.

not a good idea they are not up to the job though they are much better as a basic shop vac then the fein is. If you can only go 110v I would get two of the fein type motors and make a black box out of them they will be quet and they are about 160.00 each.

That would be nice but I do not have time to make anything.
I see the fein I and II have the same motor, 1100 watt motor that delivers a 151 cfm flow rate and 98.4 inches of water lift.
The specs on the III were
Nominal Power: 1,200 Watts
Air Flow: 126 CFM
Static Water Lift: 99"
I'm thinking of getting a I and letter rip....

I bought a 1 for house cleanup that was quiet. but it turned out to not have a huge amount of airflow can comes with with a wacky filter. then the power plugin stopped working. the 3 is the same as the older ones it just has variable speed.

I went to a local vacuum repair shop and they had a used vacuum motor out of a car wash vacuum that worked great, they put new brushes on it...
Mounted right under the table, about 40 dollars.

What do you need a filter for. When I checked mine there was nothing in it after 8 years.

The ridged will work to get by but will burn out quick. Shop vac may last longer.

Wish I had the bucks to get that Fein 9-20-25 Steve:(
They've stopped making it, and the variable speed makes it Perfect for a Desktop, and I've been dreading getting one with a simple on/off switch.
Dang....and a price 100-150 $ less than the last time I saw it:(
I hope the new motor the Fein repair center stuck in for free(3 months short of the 3 yr warranty) holds out for a long time.
Quietest shopvac I've ever heard, even at power level 5.

When one of mine melted down I went with the black box vac. It has done well and now they have been upgraded with a steel housing since I got mine. Been happy with it for 2+ years now. I did have to replace one motor a couple of months ago, the motor itself didn't fail, a seal failed and got sucked into it due to the deflection of the mounting board (looks like PVC) and it got loose. The new metal versions should have have that issue. I have an older Hurricane version but rarely have to use the second stage. It pulls almost 10" on a single stage. Yeah, it costs, but what doesn't. For the money, best solution I've found so far.

Looking it to the Hurricane, just need to find out what it will cost to get a 30apm 220 to the bot.
