Spindle connector smoked and is burnt

My old faithfull ShopBot PRS Standard smoked out today. Is the spindle connector fixable or do I need a new spindle. Back log of work any thoughts will be appreciated.

Where's the clip/hasp that keeps the connector closed?

You probably only fried the connector(s) because the power was arcing because the clip is missing...Hard to say if one or both sides is fried.

At this point you can try cleaning the connectors with emery cloth or similar mild abrasive and CRC spray and reconnecting it - plus clamping it securely closed (!) and seeing if it works.

A proper repair with new connectors is eminent...and not cheap. You may have to send it off. The burnt connections now have more resistance than new/clean ones.
