I have been cutting out name plates in 1/16th inch gold on black rowmark. I am wondering what the best operation would be in Vcarve.

I have used the quick engraving with some success and also the v carve engraving tool path. Is there a right or wrong way to do it? The signs are 5" x 3" and I am using an onsrud .010 engraving bit.

Thanks

On those type of plates, I use a diamond drag tool. Spring loaded and I set it to .05 pressure.

This is the one I bought. It appears to be out of stock right now. But reasonably priced

With most things having to do with text, it's the font and font size that makes a difference for me. I use a standard engrave bit and a single line font like Century. Russ

Sounds good. I have had some luck with them. This is quite a learning curve for the first projects. Between picking the bit, the font, the depth, and keeping the material in place, I'm glad I dont have too many of these to do.

Thanks for the responses.
