Well, I let some of my students distract me and I accidentally turned my Standard 48x48 on with the gator clip on the bit. Needless to say, I ripped the gator clip ground wire from the Wago connector to the right of the z motor. I replace that wire and thought I was good to go, but I cannot get the input #1 light to come on when I touch the aluminum plate to the bit, thus I cannot set the z axis.
I did check with a multimeter and this is what I came up with: 1) I have continuity on the ground from gator clip to bottom of control board where the z ground hooks in. 2) I do not have continuity on the black wire (which would be the aluminum z plate wire). I checked with one meter lead on the z plate and the other lead where the black Z wire hooks into the bottom of control board.
When the WAGO connectors hooked together (to the right of the z motor) I show continuity to the cable side of the connector which tells me (I think) that the WAGO connectors are working properly and were not damaged as they seem to be allowing current from the gator clip wire and the z plate wire to pass through the connector.
I have placed a jumper wire from the WAGO switch to the bottom of the control board to bypass the black cable that runs across the top and then under the machine to the control box but did not get the #1 input light to come on that way.
Any thoughts?
I am sure it is something simple.
