I recently created a set of steampunk 3d models for use in carving and used it on this name plaque for a customer...They are thrilled with it, which makes me happy.

Thanks! It's carved from HDU...and then painted with a bunch of metal paints. This is one I did for Christmas as part of a steampunk model set I made.

In case you didn't get the memo...These water based metallic coatings are awesome: Sculpt Nouveau (http://www.sculptnouveau.com/Details.cfm?ProdID=42&category=6)

You can put a patina on them to make the metal looked aged etc. Be sure to check out the YouTube videos. They work well, are only $80/gal and best of all - water based with easy cleanup. Brush, roll, spray...
