Made this chair this weekend the basic design has been around forever. The straight back leg make for very simple construction. All joints are mortise and tenon.

The legs are sugar maple the rest of the chair is cherry it will get a clear coat finish as it ages the color will really come out.

Won't take long for the Cherry to age at your outdoor shows Brian...Providing you're not SITTING in it all the time:)
Maple/Cherry makes a nice contrast, and it looks like it will last a long time!

How's the "Critter" inventory coming along:)

Thanks guys

I like the way it fits so I will make some more, I am going to make a little shorter model for people in the low 5' range. It is a very easy design to produce.

Scott I am behind on the critter count I will be going full time on carving next week. Our first show is next month.

Added corbels under the arms gives support for arm sitters and a little dress up.

Like Scott, I didn't see the wedges in the tenons at first. Nice decorative functional touch.
I love cherry.
