When Limit (proximity) Switches are on in VN, my upper z proximity switch doesn't stop travel, which causes a fault that turns off the Z motor which allows the spindle to drop damaging my work.

Surely this can't be normal. Certainly not safe.

I want the upper z to stop travel even if other limits are off. How can I make this happen?

Along with Limits On in the VN fill-in sheet, check to see that input #5 is set to Normal Closed. Make sure that the switch is lit upon start up and is adjusted properly as well. Does the light go out when it is near the target and does the #5 input on the screen light up? If not, check and adjust the gap. Make sure that there is some overtravel so that the axis isn't hitting the mechanical stop before the switch is triggered.

Thank you Scott:
Changing to Normal Closed did the trick!
