Shopbot not found

Hey everyone,

I have a shopbot prt alpha and i'm having some trouble with it. Last Wednesday, I was running the machine well and with the newest control software version, 3.5.10. I turned off the machine and my computer and when I went back to try to run the machine again, it said that the shopbot could not be found. I tried changing the com ports, i tried re-installing the firmware, and I also ran one of the diagnostic tests to see if the cable was working, which it was. What could be the problem? Also what could have caused the problem?

I get that problem everytime I fire up the laptop and ShopBot.

I just unplug the USB from the laptop slightly (until the bong) and then plug it back in again. Select "Try the same port (or words to that effect)and it should connect to the ShopBot.

Eric, that problem will also happen if you start your shopbot software before turning on your control box.
