X axis Quit

What is the procedure to find where the problem is on an axis? Y & Z work, X don't. HELP!

Ron,
the first thing I try is to swap the x and y motor power cables and encoder cables at the driver board. Calibration will be off, but you will know quickly if the problem in "in the box" or elsewhere. Ir you don't want to swap the encoders, you can turn them off with the software.

The solution was simple and caused by .... I'll leave that one. The X- Cable 'header' popped loose at the 'box'. Appears to be a "Plug and GO" fix.

Yesterday while using my ShopBot to pocket out the background around raised letters on a sign, I noticed some rough edges along some of the letters. I finally realized one of my x axis stepper motor controls has come unplugged, so that only one of the two was working. The amazing thing is that that the machine still routed the complex letters fairly well with only one x stepper working! I remain impressed, ShopBot.
