HSD spindle fan connection

Is the HSD spindle fan connected separately to the controller and not through a VFD? If so, is the fan running constantly as the controller is turned on?

Yes X2, but you could use a double throw switch in line with the fan and start button circuits to allow you to turn it off and also not be able to start the spindle without it being on.
