Okay, Long story short (I hope). I was cutting an inset border about 1/4" wide in HDU sign foam. I did this cut with a 120 degree HerSaf Insert Cutter. A little over halfway down the table, it barely even cut the border. This, of course indicated a low spot. This was right after planing the table. I am using a vacuum hold down system and you can't force the material off of the vacuum. If it were the Z axis, it should be doing this in other places. Any suggestions?

Sarah,

Are you certain the HDU is of uniform thickness? Perhaps plane it first??? Then even if something is warped, the planing and v carving will be "conformal".

Thanks much for your response. I guess that somewhere inside I was hoping I wouldn't have to plain every sheet. However, it may be important to note that I stored the HDU for several weeks up on it's side. It bowed up on me a little. Perhaps this is the answer. If I stored it flat, would I have to surface the board first? Again, thanks so much!
